Speaker Bio
Dr. Bhat is a hematologist who specializes in treating patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). She has served as a principal investigator on a number of clinical trials, and she collaborates with laboratory scientists to develop novel therapies for CLL. Her research interests include developing novel targeted therapies for the treatment of CLL with the goal of curing this disease without the need of chemotherapy. Her aim is to improve the quality of life for these patients so that they can lead a normal and productive life without enduring the toxic effects of treatment. In addition to Dr. Bhat’s clinical work, She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University and has served on a number of national committees, including the NCCN Guidelines panels for cancer-and chemotherapy-induced anemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma and hairy cell leukemia.
